Fair Trade on the Fringe: 28th - 31st August 2009

Join us at the world-famous Edinburgh Festival for a four-day Fair Trade shopping extravaganza in the heart of the City!

Event Location

Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town, the Grassmarket area is one of the most vibrant, picturesque and convivial areas of the city.

The Event

Fair Trade on the Fringe will bring together traders selling the very best fair trade products from across the globe. We will be housed in a giant open-sided marquee surrounded by the bustling cafes, bars, restaurants, boutique shops and festival entertainment.

This event offers a wonderful opportunity to promote businesses and organisations in the heart of Edinburgh at the busiest time of year! With hundreds of thousands visitors in the city for the world's largest arts festival and thousands of locals soaking up the unique atmosphere of the Grassmarket, your business is sure to make a big Fair Trade impact at this event!

We will have stalls selling: Foods & drinks - Homewares - Fashion - Jewellery - Handbags and other accessories - Books, music and much more!

Visitors will also be grooving away live music, enjoy samples and tastings and we've got children's activities at the weekend too!

The Edinburgh Ethical Christmas fair: 12th - 20th December 2009

Last year we welcomed a record breaking 20,000 visitors to the Edinburgh Ethical Christmas fair, the UK's busiest Ethical Christmas event.

This event is located in the heart of Edinburgh on Castle Street/Princes Street. The event brings together over 30 exhibitors selling the very best ethically sourced stylish and innovative gifts from across the globe, and closer to home!

This nine day shopping event is now open to bookings on a first come basis (bookings can be made for 9, 5 or 4 days).

The Fair Trade Experience: 27th & 28th February 2010

In 2010 we will celebrate our 8th Fair Trade Experience! This event has grown to be one of the biggest Fair Trade events during Fairtrade Fortnight and attracts speakers from across the globe. Over 4,000 visitors this year enjoyed browsing the over 35 Fair Trade stalls, a fantastic line-up of speakers that included; Jose Manuel Ocampo Lopez from Colombia, Alex Chalmas from Bolivia, Nasser Abufarha from Palestine, John McAllion from Fair Trade Scotland Campaign and John Riches, founder of the Just Trading Scotland. The weekend also had a variety of kids workshops, comedy, live world music and free tastings made for another hugely successful weekend event.

Over the years we have had visiting fairtrade speakers from Ghana, Southern Burkina Faso, Malawi, Kenya, Colombia, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Palestine and Brazil, Tanzania, as well as other notable speakers from across the globe and the UK Government.
